My name is Joyce Zborower. I am a fine-crafts artist working in metal, wood, and fiber. This site is about fiber.

I began doing crafts in a serious way in the mid-1960s. By 1978 I was studying jewelry design and lost wax casting with Bob and Gina Winston. Their work was beautifully organic in design. Various authors used the Winston's gold and silver pieces as illustrations in their teaching books.

In 1980, The Lapidary Journal published my first article on an original gemstone faceting design. Since then various international specialty magazines have published my step-by-step directions for making my original jewelry designs, the latest in 2007.

I've functioned as Exhibition Chair for Arizona Designer Craftsmen, once the largest fine-crafts organization in the country.

More recently, Arizona Quilters Guild displayed one of my bargello quilts in their March 2008 show in Phoenix, Az.

I have two children, two grandchildren, and worked for two years as a school psychologist. My Masters Degree is in clinical psychology.

I don't tell you these things to brag. It's important you know something about my background so you'll know that I know what I'm talking about as you read through the rest of this website because I do things somewhat differently than you may be used to.

Should you choose to work with me, either as your teacher or as your designer (though I rarely accept assignments for finished bargello baby quilts), you will have a truly unique baby quilt -- the envy of all who see it.
